The XRW Project at Skydive Elsinore has come to a close. I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it. It’s funny now, because at the beginning of the week it was so weird just to see a wingsuit in the sky with me. Then by Day 3 I was leading a mixed flocking dive with Jeff and Taya right off my shoulders flying their wingsuits, Jonathan and Bobo behind them under their velocities and Will and Dave behind them flying wingsuits. It was completely amazing! I could barely move at all, since I was leading the formation and any little move I made would change my speed, so I did my best to check over my shoulder and once everyone was there I started barely waving my fingers to tell Jeff and Taya to come closer. At breakoff Jeff and Taya just pulled out ahead of us and then parted ways to pull. It was so funny to me, because I just followed them and started spiraling my canopy down watching them open their canopies and then I could fly right beside them again. It was surreal.
Bobo and I had to leave on Wednesday, while the rest stayed until Friday. I know they accomplished some more amazing things and I can’t wait until next time. It’s funny, but I feel like I’m not going to know what to do with myself when I jump and don’t have a wingsuiter to catch.
In addition to the amazing jumps I just have to say what an inspiring group this was to work with. I was extremely impressed with everyone involved.
